Five years of crypto history. USD includes weekends; EUR, GBP and JPY use matching-date ECB rates and omit dates without an FX observation. Conversions are indicative because daily closing prices and FX fixings occur at different times. Returns are between saved observations.

Data & calculation notes +
Source. Frankfurter, restricted to ECB daily reference rates. These are reference observations, not live or executable prices. Cross rates use same-date EUR rates: quote per base = EUR/quote ÷ EUR/base.
Calculations. Daily return = (rate ÷ previous rate − 1) × 100. Default volatility is the sample standard deviation of the latest 20 daily returns (divisor 19), not annualised. Rate-level standard deviation is separately available. Moving averages use 50 or 200 published observations. Up to 200 earlier observations are retained for lookbacks but not displayed.
Comparison scales. Equity Auto uses median levels within the displayed date range: two indices split at a ratio of at least 2×; with three or more, the largest adjacent ratio after sorting must reach 2×. Lower levels use the left axis, higher levels the right. Shared forces one axis; Split forces two groups at the largest adjacent ratio when at least two series have data. Ties use a stable index/currency ordering and the first largest gap. FX and Crypto use a 10× automatic threshold and also offer Shared and Split overrides. Each tab retains its own axis setting during this session. Grouping updates on selection, date-range or axis-control changes, never on hover. Each pair’s axis is identified in the legend. Returns, volatility and indexed performance always share one scale. Moving averages retain the pair’s color: 50 observations dashed, 200 dotted.
Calendar. Weekends and ECB non-publication days are excluded; missing dates are not interpolated. “Days” means published business-day observations. Date filters do not reset calculation lookbacks.
Equity indices. S&P 500, FTSE 100, EURO STOXX 50, DAX, Nasdaq Composite and Nasdaq 100 use saved Yahoo Finance daily index closes. Choose USD (default), EUR, GBP or JPY for each index, including the same index in multiple currencies. Native currencies: USD for S&P 500 and both Nasdaq indices, GBP for FTSE 100, EUR for DAX and EURO STOXX 50. Adjusted level = original level × same-date target FX per EUR ÷ native FX per EUR. These are currency-adjusted index points, not cash prices or official currency-specific index variants. Same-date FX fixings and market closes are not synchronous. Non-native conversions omit dates without ECB FX observations; native series retain their original dates. Returns, moving averages, volatility and indexed performance use the selected currency-adjusted series. DAX is a performance index; these series are not uniformly total-return benchmarks. Missing trading days are not filled. Use the indexed chart for relative comparisons. Each tab has its own saved watchlist.
Crypto. The Crypto tab contains five years of BTC, ETH, SOL and XRP daily history from Yahoo Finance. EUR, GBP and JPY closes use matching-date ECB rates via Frankfurter, without filling missing days. USD history ends 4 October 2026; converted history ends 2 October 2026. Returns use consecutive observations, which may span weekends or holidays. Moving averages and volatility need 50/200 prices and 20 returns respectively, so their earliest values are unavailable. Data is embedded from the current development folder, data/history-2026-10-05. Guest watchlists are saved in this browser. When signed in, watchlists are saved separately to your account only when you choose Save watchlist. Guest lists are never imported automatically.
Currency scope. Initial release: USD, GBP, EUR, JPY. A fifth currency has not yet been specified. Planned: CNY, AUD, CAD, ZAR, CHF, BRL, TRY, IDR, INR, KRW. Historical coverage and redenominations must be checked before enabling these.
